Thanks for the memories! I was 9 when I first stepped into the Brat Stop with my dad. Once I’d finished my Small Coke, my dad gave me a few dashes of his beer, which went remarkably well with the (very tasty) brat!
Many years later, on the eve of a European tour with Tommy Keene (the rehearsals for which took place in nearby Mundelein), we all got comped into a Cheap Trick show (they had (weirdly) come full circle), which remains the only concert I ever saw at Brat Stop, although I can remember driving past in the late ‘80s and wistfully eyeing Johnny Winter on the marquee… What a great place!
