Diamond Dave...if anyone was ever born to be the front man of a rock-and-roll band, it was David Lee Roth. This is a fun interview. Thanks for running it again.
Thanks for reposting this piece - I’m a new reader. Really enjoyed it. My appreciation for DLR has really grown over the years. No chance the band becomes what it did without him. I also find it fascinating that his greatest strengths are simultaneously weaknesses. Greatest rock frontman of all time. No one quite like him. Thanks again for putting this back out there 🙏
I'll butcher the quote, but one of my favorite DLR lines was along the lines of "People say Dave, you live in a world of your own. Hey - at least they know me there!!!"
DLR is an underrated genius. His lyrics are pure rock and roll. Quintessential front man. He is the whole enchilada.
Amen to all that!

Right on, Brady — and thanks for joining the party!
