Duke of Prunes - stone cold classic Frank. Absolutely Free is his greatest album.

Zappa is someone I generally respect more than actually enjoy - but that’s a really enjoyable album.

I knew the Electric Prunes would have to show up in here. My favorite tracks by the EPs are "Get Me To The World On Time" and "I Happen To Love You."  The latter was written by Carole King and originally offered to The Monkees, but they didn't want it.

And, ignore everything you think you know about prunes and give them a try. Like raisins, they are always a good sweet fix but are perfect when chopped up on oatmeal (w/some blueberries and walnuts) or in a fruit smoothie.

Get me to the world on time is one of the great hidden gems of the garage-psych era.

Never knew The Edge had an older brother who was a guitarist. His Wiki bio states he was also in U2 at the very beginning (mid-70’s).

So I watched that “painful” Virgin Prunes vid. hoping to see a shot of him, and he finally gets a close-up after 2 minutes. He’s got that same “stoic” look as his brother. And now I’ll hopefully never hear the Virgin Prunes again!

I must admit that I’m not regretting the fact that I never got around to exploring their records…

The depths of your musical knowledge never fail to amaze me. I never knew there were so many songs about prunes.

There are probably more out there, too - but this was as many as I could stomach!

Crumit was a really unique performer. "Abdul The Bubul Ameer" is a song I smile just recalling.

In less than a decade, you’ll be begging for prunes. 🥹🤷🏼
