I love that dumb movie. It came out when I was 13 or so, so that helps—there's a few other much crummier low budget bangers that came out on it's coattails, like Black Roses and Rocktober Blood. Blackie would've been way better in the role, but maybe he was feeling a bit lofty after his performance in The Dungeonmaster.

And Fastway is such an odd choice, no matter how much I love that first album. I may have to watch this tonight, it's been while.

I don't recall this movie at all, but it sounds like a lot of fun - "unquestionably ridiculous, but still highly enjoyable" is a ringing endorsement in my book. Bad taste costs no more!

"You Will" Dan - say it man - "you will!!!!" Good and valid point on why horror stories/movies don't seem very scary these days relatively speaking. Also great to think about Fast Eddie an what coulda been...

Ah, I really did enjoy the exploits of Sammi Curr, but they probably screwed up commercially with that title. "Trick Or Treat"? It doesn't even work on a literal or conceptual level. There's nothing in this movie referring to trick or treating, Halloween is a minimal aspect to the plot, and there's nothing metal about trick or treating. Maybe they should have gone with "Rock And Roll, Steal Your Soul" or something more overt. That clip above is fun -- why not use that phrase "Guitar Kill"?

Absolutely agree - the “Halloween dance” segment and the “play the record at midnight on Halloween” are the only moments that really fit in with the Halloween concept, and even those seem oddly downplayed.
